Bolt Action Fallschirmjager German Airborne
The German Fallschirmjäger, the world's first large-scale paratroopers, were on the front lines when war erupted in 1939. They led daring assaults on critical targets like the fortress at Eben Emael, paving the way for subsequent armored advances that swept across Europe.
Their most renowned operation as paratroopers was the fierce battle for Crete in 1941, where they faced superior British and Commonwealth forces. Though they achieved a costly victory, they were never again employed en masse.
Operating in smaller units via glider and parachute, they famously rescued Italian leader Mussolini and conducted raids behind American lines in the Ardennes. Their crowning achievement came during the grueling defense of Monte Cassino monastery against overwhelming odds, earning them the moniker "Green Devils." German Paratroopers were widely regarded as among the toughest soldiers in an already formidable army.
Warlord Games' Fallschirmjäger miniatures are ideal for recreating battles in Northwest Europe and can also be deployed in actions on the Eastern Front.
